If our galaxy is 26 cycles old and our planet has orbited our star billions of times I'm guessing this event is occurring at tremendous speed and in a very brief time.  Practically an eye blink really.  The fact that our heavens are practicly a frozen picture makes it very clear we are mid event and existing at a much different rate.  We are faster.
