Earth is temporary.   Look around earth type planets do not stay earth life planets forever.  See Venus.  See Mars.  Thats our future.  The planet will live on in spectacular colors and storms just not with us on it. If humanity is to survive it must learn to be space living otherwise we doom ourselves to what fate this future planet holds.
